This special drive is a so-called hexalobular internal. Compared to less precise-fitting drive types like Phillips or cross recess, the contact surface is many times larger with our T-STAR plus, and the T-STAR bits are always positioned optimally in the screw head. Of all of our head shapes, the raised countersunk head is undoubtedly the most attractive. In contrast to the countersunk head, which is designed completely flat to enable flush countersinking, the raised countersunk head has a slightly convex shape on top. Depending on screw type and surface material (stainless steel, nickel-plated, WIROX and antique), these screws not only function as a necessary fastener, but also as a decorative element. The fixing thread is a two-part thread featured on some SPAX screws. It consists of a main thread, which inserts into the substructure, and another thread below the head. The thread below the head is separated from the main thread by a short section of smooth shank, and ensures that the board remains securely in place on the substructure in all weather conditions. The term 4CUT is used to describe the fact that the point of our screws is not rounded, but rather shaped like an arrow. These four edges displace the wood fibres upon insertion and thus create space for the core diameter of the screw. The otherwise inevitable expansion at the core of the wood is effectively reduced, minimising wood splitting around the edges. The required cordless screwdriver torque is also reduced, since the screw core no longer needs to ""squeeze"" into the wood.
