Insulation is an often overlooked, but a very important factor to consider in the success of a renovation project. Because the difference it can make is invisible. While many customers initially tend to focus on visible parts of their renovation – like the colours, fittings, appliance specifications, room layouts and finishes – how a room feels will come to matter just as much, if not more, in the long run. And how it feels is largely due to the insulation: whether the room is comfortably warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and calm and quiet all year round.
There’s insulation, and there’s Rockwool stone wool insulation. Unlike petrochemical-based insulation materials, Rockwool is made from stone. Which means it is a natural high-performance material that is highly resistant to mould and fungus. It is easy to work with and extremely durable. And, you will be pleased to know, non-combustible.
Rockwool is a stone-based insulation. It is sourced from abundant lava deposits of volcanic rocks which are melted in a cupola furnace like a controlled man-made volcano. As the re-melted lava comes out of the furnace, it is spun, given water repellency treatment and bound together in a wool-like fleece, which is then cut and shaped into convenient blocks and mats.
Rockwool products are easy to use, fit perfectly, and perform efficiently for decades without the need for maintenance or adjustment. So you save time and money fitting them and are less likely to have to go back to remedy problems later.
Rockwool stone wool insulation is made from one of nature’s most abundant resources – volcanic rock. Not only is it a naturally renewable and sustainable material, it also boasts a unique combination of benefits. All Rockwool insulation products possess outstanding fire, acoustic and thermal insulation properties as well as a lifelong durability, making it the sustainable and cost-effective choice.
Our Kingsfold depot is currently home to a Rockwool demonstration tunnel that customers can walk through to experience the effectiveness of its soundproofing. Why not drop by to give it a try?
We always keep stock of Rockwool products, and our friendly staff are experts in their use, so if you have any further questions about this premium insulation just give us a call on 01306 628114.
