If you work for a local charity, volunteer for a group, or receive support from a regional good cause, now is the time to nominate it to be our next Proud to be Local winner.
So far we’ve given away thousands of pounds to worthy community groups who’ve used the funds to buy equipment, increase resources and update facilities so they can carry on providing essential services within the region. This time, the group of your choice could soon receive a cheque for £500 in the second round of our competition.
If you’ve read about our Proud to be Local campaign in the local press or on our website, and always wanted to get involved, now is the perfect time to nominate your favourite charity. Throughout April and May, we’ll be collating nominations via email and letter. Anyone can take part and all entries are carefully considered.
The closing date for nominations is midnight on Sunday 12th May
After this point three shortlisted finalists will be chosen and put forward for the next round of public votes. This process gives us an important opportunity to hear about the outstanding work on our doorstep, and we’re always humbled by the dedication of those who serve our community.
Want to make a difference?
It couldn’t be easier. Simply email details of the cause and how the £500 would be used to proudtobelocal@dwnye.co.uk. Alternatively, nominations can be posted to NYEs Proud to be Local c/o PMW Communications, Stane Court, Stane Street, Billingshurst RH14 9HP. Please ensure a contact name and telephone number is included.
Our MD Rex Nye says: “Our Proud to be Local competition is open to any group, charity or local cause needing help with fundraising. Whether that’s to complete a project, buy equipment or continue to offer a helping hand to those they support, all suggestions are welcome and will be discussed. We look forward to hearing from you. Updates will be posted on our website and social media pages.”
Last month’s winner was Trafalgar Community Infant School in Horsham which received £500 to spend on new playground equipment. They were so delighted to win they sent a photo of the children holding a banner saying ‘thank you’.
If you’re hoping to be our next Proud to be Local champion, send in your nomination today. We wish everyone the best of luck and look forward to hearing about your organisation.
