Second chance for a Sussex-based charity to win £500

Following the enormous success of our first Proud to be Local campaign this year, we’re pleased to announce there’s a second chance to win £500 funding for another deserving cause.

We’re on the look-out for a second local charity or group to support, and the power is in your hands. If you know of a charity that deserves recognition for its endeavours, now is the chance to put them forward for consideration. One charity will be selected at the end of May.

The campaign is an opportunity for us to provide direct support to a local good cause, and shine a spotlight on the tireless work they do, year on year. We’re proud of the local connections we’ve established over the last 30 years of our business. The Proud to be Local funding is our chance to give back to the community that has supported our business for so many years.

Throughout May, we’d like local residents to nominate their chosen group. The process couldn’t be easier, simply email details of the cause and how the £500 would be used to proudtobelocal@dwnye.co.uk. Alternatively, nominations can be sent by post to D.W. Nye Proud to be Local c/o PMW Communications, Stane Court, Stane Street, Billingshurst, RH14 9HP. Please ensure a contact name and telephone number is included. Nominations should be submitted by midnight on Sunday 13th May 2018. The winner will be notified by Monday 28th May 2018.

Your chosen charity could be joining the campaign’s first winner 4TheYouth in Horsham, which is already enjoying the benefits of more equipment for its Forest School - helping to encourage young people to get outdoors. The compelling stories behind the first set of nominations amazed and touched us - the level of local dedication and commitment on our doorstep is truly inspiring.

From schools trying to complete a much-needed project to sports facilities requiring help to buy equipment, or a charity looking for assistance, all suggestions are welcome.

Our Managing Director, Rex Nye, said:

“Following the first round, we were absolutely delighted to announce our winners as 4TheYouth and to help make a difference to a fantastic group that is doing so much for young people in the community. We hope to repeat this for a different charity or group in May and look forward to receiving as many nominations from across Sussex as possible.

“We wanted to celebrate our commitment to our roots with our ‘Proud to be Local’ campaign by supporting those around us that help to make the area such a great place to live and work.”

Don’t miss the opportunity for your charity to receive a funding boost. Submit your overview of the charitable cause by 13th May and we’ll be in touch if the application is successful. We look forward to hearing from you.
