Jack and Jill Pre-school is crowned our third Proud to be Local winner!

After hundreds of votes were cast, we’re delighted to announced that the latest winner in our Proud to be Local campaign is Jack and Jill Pre-school in Roffey.

Over the last few weeks our local community has been busy voting for the charity of its choice. Support for each of the three finalists has been overwhelming, leading to one of our biggest responses to the competition so far.

A cheque for £500 has now been handed to the pre-school which will go towards renewing the soft flooring under the climbing equipment to ensure a safe and stimulating setting for the children.

The breadth of charitable work uncovered by our campaign highlights the caring nature of our local community and the number of people who give their time and energy to support good causes. Jack and Jill now joins the Holbrook Animal Rescue Centre and 4TheYouth in our line-up of worthy winners who have benefitted from much-needed funding.

This local pre-school works to provide quality, inclusive care and education for children aged two to 12 years. It offers a place where children can explore, create, and discover the world in a safe and nurturing environment. Founded 24 years ago, the pre-school is based in Littlehaven Infant School and occupies a recently extended site which includes a sensory room. In September 2017, it opened a second facility at Northolmes Junior School.

Diane Shanley, Childcare Executive, from Jack and Jill Pre-school commented:

“The amount of support we received from the public, coupled with the generous donation from D.W. Nye, has given us a wonderful boost. The campaign has been a great way to promote the work that we do whilst helping to secure valuable funds which will make a big impact on the resources we can afford to bring in. We’re lucky enough to have an amazing team of people who make it all possible. We all feel very Proud to be Local!”

Rex Nye, Managing Director at D.W. Nye, added:

“Huge congratulations to Jack and Jill. It has been fantastic to hear about the charity’s work to provide childcare facilities for local families. We’re very happy to be able to support the team’s tireless efforts.”
